Cold Case Spotlight

On December 8, 2009, Michael Watkins called police to say he had been stabbed while working at BJ's Novelty on Arcade Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. By the time police arrived, they found his body inside. He had been stabbed in the neck. Detectives had little evidence to go on and despite interviewing a number of people, no arrest has been made. Update - December 2021: The Kentucky State Police announced the arrest of Randell Nichols, 63, on December 15, 2021. He is being charged with first-degree murder. Nichols is the second arrest made in this case, following the October arrest of Brian Flannery. Police indicated that even more arrests could be coming.

Update - October 2021: The Kentucky State Police announced the arrest of Brian Flannery, 57, on October 8, 2021. He is being charged with first-degree murder. Authorities indicated that they expect more arrests to follow.
