Cold Case Spotlight

33-year-old Rachel Galbreath was found in a pool of blood in her own apartment on May 9, 2014 in South Holland, Illinois. Coworkers went to check on her after she failed to show up for work and found her body. The medical examiner determined she had multiple injuries to her head and body. Despite hundreds of pieces of evidence and dozens of interviews with anyone that knew Ms. Galbreath, detectives have been unable to make an arrest. Up to this point the evidence has not pointed to anyone specifically. Cold Case Spotlight

In the early morning hours of Monday, December 28th, 1987 the victim, Melissa "Missy" Taylor Ellison, white female, age 20 was found deceased by a roommate. The victim's 13 month old baby girl was found in the trailer unharmed. The incident took place at 3611 Colejean Road, Lot #49, (Taylor's Trailer Park) which was located off of Normandy Boulevard on the west side of Jacksonville, Florida. Numerous individuals were interviewed at the time of the incident providing leads that were followed up by detectives. The case was eventually suspended pending any further leads being developed. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Cold Case Unit, is asking if any individual who may have information that may help lead to the identity of a potential suspect or suspects to contact either Crime Stoppers 1-866-845-TIPS or the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.

On November 11, 1995, Doris Bean, age 81, and her sister Loretta Allen, age 76, were killed in their home at 163 Central Street in Hudson, NH during a burglary of the home. The perpetrators wore masks during the home invasion. Doris and Loretta were both severely beaten. In addition, Doris was stabbed during the attack. Although Charles Dorval, Jr. was convicted of first degree murder for killing Loretta Allen, it is believed that Dorval did not act alone and that someone else killed Doris Bean.

On Monday, July 22, 1991, at 5:00 pm, the body of Thomas Hilton was found in his mobile home located in the 1200 block of Baker Road in the Colonial Run Trailer Park. Investigators working the crime scene discovered signs of a struggle within the mobile home. Mr. Hilton’s body was transported to the State medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The cause of death was the result of a beating with the manner ruled a homicide. Mr. Hilton had last been seen by friends the Saturday before, July 20, 1991 at approximately 5:00 pm. He is described as a 55 year old white male who had brown eyes, brown with grey hair, 5’ 9’’ tall weighing 177 pounds.
