On July 19, 1980 unidentified human remains were discovered behind a store in the 1900 block of Northwest 9th Street in Fort Lauderdale. The victim was a black female who stood about 5'03-5'04" tall and weighed 141pounds. She had needle tracks and was wearing a red, green and black flannel shirt, brownish-beige jeans and a red leather belt. She was wearing clear, plastic loafers on her feet. It is estimated that she was between 25-35 years old. UPDATE: June 2021 - On June 4, 2021, two men were taken into custody for their connection to the Arbuthnot double homicide. David Wisham Sr. and Kenneth Jones Jr. are in custody, each currently charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

In the early morning hours of December 17, 2013, first responders found the bodies of 20-year-old Ryesha Arbuthnot and her mother, 45-year-old Lisa Arbuthnot at the Wind Run apartments off the north I-10 Service Road.

The coroner says the 20-year-old was stabbed to death while her mother was shot in the head.
