Cold Case Spotlight

Bryan Bennett Wrigley, a South Carolina native attending University of St. Augustine and avid bicycle rider, was riding his bicycle eastbound on CR-214 near Poa Boy Farms Rd. Around 3:15pm, and for reasons unknown, a westbound 2001 to 2003 Blue Ford Ranger crossed the center line of the road and struck Bryan Wrigley head-on killing him instantly. The driver then fled the crash scene west bound. A witness in the area described the Ford Ranger as an extended cab, and the driver as a 18-21 year old white male with dark hair. He was last seen turning south on CR13 from CR214 with a bicycle tire still stuck to the front of the truck. On December 17th, 2006, at approximately 12:48 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Oasis Liquor Store reference to shots fired in the area. While deputies were investigating the call they were notified that a subject across the street at 1602 24th Street in Orlando had been shot. The victim heard the earlier gunshots and went outside to investigate when he was struck with a bullet. He was transported to the hospital and died the following day as a result of the gunshot wound. Cold Case Spotlight

On August 7, 2006, at approximately 10:23 pm, 17-year-old Robert Placencia was struck by gunfire, while walking in the area of Tamoshanter Way and Montecito Way in the Meadowview area of Sacramento, California. Two other murders happened in the same area within 30 hours of Robert Placencia's killing but are not considered connected and appear to have been gang-related. Robert's son was 12 months old when his father was shot and killed in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity. In 2007 a $50,000 Governors Reward was issued and still remains active for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s).
