On April 10, 1993, 15-year-old Diago Gama Gomez (female) and several other family members were in their residence at 204 Hopson Rd in Frostproof, when three unknown black male suspects entered and started shooting. Diago was shot in the head and died at the scene. Several of her family members were also wounded during the shooting. The suspects fled the scene on foot where possibly two other suspects were waiting outside. Drugs were possibly involved.
