On September 12, 1981 unidentified human remains were discovered in the sawgrass along Alligator Alley (I-75) near mile marker 74 (old mile marker system). The victim was a white, Hispanic male with some Asian traits and black shoulder-length hair. He was 5'4" - 5' 6" tall and weighed 120 and 150 lbs. He was wearing a long-sleeved, grey shirt with silver stripes, a maroon vest, maroon pants, size 6 ½, brown, clog-type shoes. An Indian chief head ring with purple stones for eyes was on his left ring finger. A gold ring with a square, light blue stone was on his left pinky finger, and he wore Timex watch. The victim was estimated to be between 20 - 25 years old at the time of death. The victim had been deceased at the location for approximately 2 weeks. He had complex dental prosthesis on his upper teeth.
