On December 7th, 2013, deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 39th Street and South Orange Blossom Trail. They were flagged down by an individual who alerted them to a victim on the back porch of 1338 39th Street. The victim was discovered unconscious and suffering from several gunshots wounds. On Friday, November 9, 2001 at approximately 2:08 am, 20 year old Zedric Daniels was sitting in a friend’s vehicle when he was shot in the head. The car was parked out front of the Holiday Inn located at 5655 Greenwich Road. Mr. Daniels’ friend and driver of the car were inside the motel when he heard a gunshot outside. He ran outside to the car where he found Zedric bleeding from his head. Police and Rescue responded and found Zedric deceased. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office where the autopsy revealed a gunshot wound to the head was the cause of death and the manner a homicide. Zedric was a 20 year old black male, who had brown eyes, black hair with small braids, goatee , and he stood 5’ 7’’ tall weighing 128 pounds with a thin build.

On April 1, 2005, 33-year-old Priteshkumar “Pat” Amin was killed while working in his convenience store located at 201 SR 542 in Dundee. Surveillance video shows that at approximately 7:10 a.m. that morning, a dark-colored, late model GMC Yukon (seen in the photo here) backed up to the front door of the store. Four young Black male suspects exited the vehicle and went inside the store. A gunshot can heard on the video, and shortly thereafter, the four suspects exit the store and leave in the Yukon. A customer found Amin behind the counter. He had been shot in the chest. Amin was known to keep large amounts of cash in the store to cash paychecks for customers.
