On October 31, 2007, Miles Day Sawvel III was murdered during a home invasion robbery in Palm Shores. Miles Sawvel, 34, and his girlfriend got home around noon on Wednesday to find two men inside their home on US-1 in Cocoa. At least one of the men pulled a gun and shot Sawvel. Cold Case Spotlight

Clifford Backmann, 56, was working alone finishing some construction on an office condominium at 6960 Bonneval Road near the intersection of Philips Highway and J. Turner Butler Boulevard on Saturday, October 10, 2009 when an unknown African American male robbed and shot him. He was able to call 911 and give some details before he died, but not enough to catch his killer. On November 23, 2010, the body of 42-year-old Thomas Enquist, Sr., of Londonderry was located inside his black Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck was found at approximately 10:38 p.m. in the right breakdown lane on Route 101 in Auburn, New Hampshire heading westbound between exits 2 and 1. It was determined that Enquist had died of gunshot wounds and his manner of death was ruled to be homicide. Despite an intensive investigation, the case remains unsolved.
