On 03-25-2016 at approximately 8:05 p.m., deputies responded to the above location in reference to an aggravated battery of a Pizza Hut delivery driver in the parking lot of the establishment. On October 4, 1978, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported home invasion at Hi-way “46” Nursery & Antiques, located at Rt. 1, Box 52A, West 1st Street, Sanford (now known as 3440 S.R. 46). Upon arrival, they found Bernard Edwards, w/m, 73 years of age, deceased inside the store. It was reported that two unknown masked individuals beat, robbed, and stabbed the victim. On Sunday, June 8, 2003 at approximately 6:52 pm, the body of Jay Cecil Thames, a 57 year old white male, was found deceased at his residence located at 1115 SW 3 Ave. He had been beaten to death. The residence is a building with several apartments (a quad). The front door to the residence was found unsecured but there were no signs of forced entry. The victim was known to allow homeless people into his residence. The victim was last seen alive on 06-07-02 downtown by a GPD Detective. In August of 2000, LANESHIA CROWDER, a 21 year old single mother of two children (seven year old KENNETH CROWDER and two year old LYRIC CROWDER) lived at 270 Henson Circle, Carrollton, GA. On Monday, August 14, 2000, at approximately 10:00 p.m., CROWDER’S body was discovered in her bedroom after no one had spoken with CROWDER for several days. CROWDER’S son, KENNETH, was discovered in the adjacent bedroom. He had been assaulted and was suffering from head trauma. He was airlifted to Egleston Hospital, where he survived his injuries. LYRIC CROWDER was found in her mother’s bedroom unharmed. CROWDER was last known to be alive on Saturday, August 12, 2000. It is believed that sometime after midnight in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 13, 2000, LANESHIA CROWDER was attacked and assaulted, resulting in her death.
