Cold Case Spotlight

On Saturday May 22, 2010 at 12:08 a.m. Murfreesboro Police responded to 1401 Eagle Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered that two adult males had been shot and a third was injured by debris. The shooting occurred in front of the residence. Nathan Morgan Jr., 24, was hit with three bullets and died a short time later at a local hospital. Mr. Morgan was visiting a friend on Eagle street when the unknown suspect(s) shot in to the crowd where he was standing. Investigator are asking anyone with information to come forward. On Tuesday, April 3, 2007, gunfire erupted in the 6000 block of Wesleyan Drive. Responding police units found the body of a black male lying in the yard of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics transported the victim to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he died a short time later. The State Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and determined the death to be a homicide. Investigators have identified the victim as 46 year old Russell Grant Valentine Jr. of the 6000 block of Wesleyan Drive, Virginia Beach. He was a black male who had brown eyes, black hair, 6’ 1’’ tall weighing 200 pounds
