The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Region 7 office in Thomson, Georgia and the Burke County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the murder of Amy Ellison. On Wednesday, March 07, 2012 at approximately 5:54 a.m., the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Brigham Landing Road in Girard, Georgia in reference to a female subject found with a fatal gunshot wound. The victim resided at the home along with her minor children. The oldest child found her deceased inside of the residence. The Burke County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Amy’s death. UPDATE: June 2021 - On June 4, 2021, two men were taken into custody for their connection to the Arbuthnot double homicide. David Wisham Sr. and Kenneth Jones Jr. are in custody, each currently charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

In the early morning hours of December 17, 2013, first responders found the bodies of 20-year-old Ryesha Arbuthnot and her mother, 45-year-old Lisa Arbuthnot at the Wind Run apartments off the north I-10 Service Road.

The coroner says the 20-year-old was stabbed to death while her mother was shot in the head.

Cold Case Spotlight

Scharod Fleming was attending a teen dance at the YMCA in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco on January 17, 2004. After two fights broke out and spilled into the street police arrived (around 10:30pm) to defuse the situation. While the teens gathered in front of the building around 11:50pm a gunman opened fire on the crowd, shooting multiple people and killing 15-year-old Scharod Fleming. The Office of the Mayor of San Francisco has authorized a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect responsible for the murder of Scharod Fleming.
