The victims’ Mother reported she was sitting in her house on the couch when an unknown person entered the residence. The subject, who she believed to be a Black male, approximately 5’6”, slender build, wearing grey sweat pants and a mask entered the residence armed with a rifle with a shell catcher on it. The male walked past her to the front bedroom of the residence where he shot her son Joseph Smith, then turned and walked to the rear bedroom where he shot her oldest son Roland DeLoatch. The gunman returned to the living room where he pointed the firearm at her and she begged for her life. The gunman left her unharmed and exited the residence on foot in an unknown direction. Update: June 2018 - Nearly three years after Daniel Rowe, 20, was robbed and gunned down while taking out the trash behind the Blind Rabbit in Riverside, his family finally has justice.Judge Mark Borello sentenced Erron Coleman, 27, to life in prison for second-degree murder and another life sentence for armed robbery with a deadly weapon, with a minimum 10-year sentence. On July 22, 2015, around 10:00pm Daniel Rowe carried trash out of the Blind Rabbit Burger and Whiskey Bar where he worked in Jacksonville, Florida. In the alley behind the restaurant, near the intersection of King St. and College St. in Riverside, he was approached by two black males intending to rob him. Daniel was shot twice in the head before the suspects fled the scene.
