On July 29th, 2006, at approximately 5:54 a.m., deputies responded to 5646 Piney Ridge Drive in reference to an aggravated battery with a firearm. The victim had just arrived home when three unknown black males approached him and demanded cash and drugs. The victim was shot during the confrontation and died as a result of the gunshot wound. Cold Case Spotlight

33-year-old Rachel Galbreath was found in a pool of blood in her own apartment on May 9, 2014 in South Holland, Illinois. Coworkers went to check on her after she failed to show up for work and found her body. The medical examiner determined she had multiple injuries to her head and body. Despite hundreds of pieces of evidence and dozens of interviews with anyone that knew Ms. Galbreath, detectives have been unable to make an arrest. Up to this point the evidence has not pointed to anyone specifically. Cold Case Spotlight

On August 7, 2006, at approximately 10:23 pm, 17-year-old Robert Placencia was struck by gunfire, while walking in the area of Tamoshanter Way and Montecito Way in the Meadowview area of Sacramento, California. Two other murders happened in the same area within 30 hours of Robert Placencia's killing but are not considered connected and appear to have been gang-related. Robert's son was 12 months old when his father was shot and killed in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity. In 2007 a $50,000 Governors Reward was issued and still remains active for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s).
