On April 10, 1993, 15-year-old Diago Gama Gomez (female) and several other family members were in their residence at 204 Hopson Rd in Frostproof, when three unknown black male suspects entered and started shooting. Diago was shot in the head and died at the scene. Several of her family members were also wounded during the shooting. The suspects fled the scene on foot where possibly two other suspects were waiting outside. Drugs were possibly involved. On March 26, 2017 at approximately 12:13 p.m., deputies responded to the area of 23rd Street and S. Orange Blossom Trail regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, a Ford F150 truck was found on its side after it apparently crashed into a parked car. The presumed driver/victim 1, Sylvio Montina, was found inside the truck, with gunshot wounds. The presumed passenger/victim 2, Darlene Harriell, black/female, was entrapped underneath the truck and pronounced dead on the scene. Victim Montina was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire on 23rd Street, west of S. Orange Blossom Trail, just prior to the vehicle crash. On July 21, 2015, around 2 a.m., Eric Shaw and a female were shot at the Southside Court Apartments in Columbus, Georgia. At the time of the shooting, Columbus police say both victims were inside of a red 2009 Chevy Aveo. Eric died three months later as a result of his injuries. The female survived.
