UPDATE: June 2021 - On June 4, 2021, two men were taken into custody for their connection to the Arbuthnot double homicide. David Wisham Sr. and Kenneth Jones Jr. are in custody, each currently charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

In the early morning hours of December 17, 2013, first responders found the bodies of 20-year-old Ryesha Arbuthnot and her mother, 45-year-old Lisa Arbuthnot at the Wind Run apartments off the north I-10 Service Road.

The coroner says the 20-year-old was stabbed to death while her mother was shot in the head.

On Wednesday, March 07, 2012 at approximately 5:54 a.m., the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Brigham Landing Road in Girard, Georgia in reference to a female subject found with a fatal gunshot wound. The victim resided at the home along with her minor children. The oldest child found her deceased inside of the residence. The Burke County Sheriff’s Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Amy’s death.
