UPDATE 2/28/20 - Danville Police say 29-year-old Jimmie Rodgers, of Chicago, shot 32-year-old William Banks, of Danville, multiple times. Banks' body was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive on January 12, 2019 around 5 a.m.

Investigators identified Rodgers as the suspect and a warrant was issued on February 1, 2019. Police believed Rodgers had left the area after the murder. Rodgers was arrested in Merrillville, Indiana on Thursday afternoon by members of the US Marshal’s Service.

Rodgers is charged with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
