On November 11, 1995, Doris Bean, age 81, and her sister Loretta Allen, age 76, were killed in their home at 163 Central Street in Hudson, NH during a burglary of the home. The perpetrators wore masks during the home invasion. Doris and Loretta were both severely beaten. In addition, Doris was stabbed during the attack. Although Charles Dorval, Jr. was convicted of first degree murder for killing Loretta Allen, it is believed that Dorval did not act alone and that someone else killed Doris Bean.

On Sunday, June 8, 2003 at approximately 6:52 pm, the body of Jay Cecil Thames, a 57 year old white male, was found deceased at his residence located at 1115 SW 3 Ave. He had been beaten to death. The residence is a building with several apartments (a quad). The front door to the residence was found unsecured but there were no signs of forced entry. The victim was known to allow homeless people into his residence. The victim was last seen alive on 06-07-02 downtown by a GPD Detective.
