Cold Case Spotlight

On November 18th, 2007, at 10:15 p.m., police answered a call at the Mission Springs apartments at 5327 Timuquana Road and found 19-year-old Barry Lee Brooks Jr. with a gunshot wound. Rescue took Brooks to the hospital, but he died early the next morning. Police think the crime was related to a robbery and said they`re looking for multiple assailants. Witnesses described them as two men wearing black hoodies with their faces covered by bandanas. The crime scene was near a trash bin at the tree line along Catoma Street. If you have any information, no matter how small you think it is, please call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-8477. If your information leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this deadly shooting, you could be eligible for a $3,000 reward. Another $1,000 is available for information that leads to the recovery of the gun in this case.
