Cold Case Spotlight

On August 15, 2013, the Lee County Sheriff Office received a call that a person was found in the area of Leah Court and Meadow Road in Lehigh Acres. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a deceased male. Detectives arrived and assumed the investigation. The decedent was later identified as Kyle Byrtus: a white male with a date of birth of May 17, 1988. Kyle was a high school star track athlete and student at Fort Myers High School. The death was later determined to be a homicide. The investigation continues.

On May 2, 1991 Maurice Giguere, age 30, was found in the Androscoggin River in Dummer, NH. He died as a result of gunshot wounds. Maurice had been born in Gorham, NH but was living in Nashua, NH at the time of his death. Maurice was last seen leaving a party across the street from his home on Clairmoor Drive in Nashua on February 22, 1991. He was reported missing by a roommate on March 3, 1991.
