This is a South Salt Lake Police Department cold case homicide. If you have information regarding this investigation please contact the South Salt Lake Police Department Investigation Division at (801) 412-3604. Case Synopsis: On May 9, 2004, shortly before 3am, South Salt Lake Police Department officers responded to the address of 776 West Timber Creek Way, the Timber Creek Apartments 3900 South 700 West. Upon arrival the responding officers found Mr. Ruben DeLeon was deceased. Through the investigation information was gained that at 1am Mr. DeLeon was observed and identified near the front entrance of the complex. Mr. DeLeon's death was ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner*s Office due to injuries sustained during an altercation. The incident occurred within the apartment complex between 1am and 3am.
