On August 2, 1996 unidentified human remains were found in a lake in the 3500 block of S.W. 29th Ave., south of State Road 84, in unincorporated Broward County. The victim was a white male between 5'2" and 5'4". He weighed 100-110 pounds. He had dark hair and was estimated to be in his early 20s. The body was decapitated and partially dismembered, so it was particularly difficult to identify. He had a vertical scar just below the knee on his right leg. UPDATE 2/28/20 - Danville Police say 29-year-old Jimmie Rodgers, of Chicago, shot 32-year-old William Banks, of Danville, multiple times. Banks' body was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home in the 1600 block of Edgewood Drive on January 12, 2019 around 5 a.m.

Investigators identified Rodgers as the suspect and a warrant was issued on February 1, 2019. Police believed Rodgers had left the area after the murder. Rodgers was arrested in Merrillville, Indiana on Thursday afternoon by members of the US Marshal’s Service.

Rodgers is charged with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
