On Jan. 29, 2013, a 32-year-old mother was found fatally shot in her Roslindale apartment Carly Jones was discovered by a friend who had dropped off Jones’ daughter from school. When the friend approached the apartment, she noticed the front door had been left open. She instructed the child to wait outside as she entered the home and found the victim deceased. The multiple-family dwelling where Carly lived is located in a quiet residential neighborhood on Fawndale Road. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry in the building’s main entrance or in the apartment. Police believe that Jones knew her killer and that a tenant unwittingly let the shooter in through the main entrance. Update: On August 4, 2021, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department announced that they had solved the Michelle Wyatt case. John Patrick Hogan was identified through investigative genetic genealogy over many years of working the case. Hogan died in 2004 at the age of 42.

The victim Sandra L. Johnson was last seen on April 20, 1989, at her place of employment, the Wagon Wheel Café, on US Hwy 17 South in Bartow. On April 26, 1989, her body was found in a wooded area off Old Bartow/Eagle Lake Road in Bartow. Her panties and blue jeans were pulled down around her knees and her shirt was pulled up around her neck. Her cause of death is undetermined but it appears that she had extensive head damage.
