Date of Homicide: 4-11-11 Case number: 11-16541 On April 11, 2011, at approximately 0958 hours, (9:58 am) the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the Desoto Village Apartments, stating that there was a dead, black female inside her apartment and a baby found crying inside a locked bedroom. The maintenance crew forced open the bedroom door with a screwdriver. They had received a phone call from an unknown person stating that they needed to check the welfare of Myslene Gabriel, because she possibly had committed suicide. MSO responded and found Myslene Gabriel, B/F, dead, lying face up in the living room. Gabriel appeared to have signs of trauma on her face at that time, and was 3 months pregnant at the time of her death. The apartment was locked and according to the family her cell phone, a Blackberry Torch was missing along with a large flat screen TV. The victim had an incident with her ex-boyfriend, Bryan Stanford, on 4-5-11 and he was subsequently arrested on 4-11-11 for Aggravated Domestic Battery, but denied any involvement in her death. Before succumbing to his injuries Bloom told police that two black men wearing hoods entered his garage around 11pm on July 20, 2012. Bloom said he was struck on the head with a handgun, tied up with an electrical cord and set on fire. Cold Case Spotlight

On the evening of April 17, 2014, Kenneth Ford II, 29, was shot and killed during a home invasion robbery at his Colonia Tepeyac Apartment in Dallas, TX. A young woman in the apartment was wounded during the robbery and transported to a local hospital were she was treated. Kenneth’s children were also in the home and witnessed their father’s murder. Investigators have not named any suspect(s) publicly and despite interviewing multiple witnesses have not been able to make an arrest.
