Cold Case Spotlight

Late on the evening of June 25, 2013, residents in the Englewood area of Jacksonville, Florida began calling 911 to report a house fire on Mimosa Drive. 83-year-old Robert Levey was found deceased inside his home, which had been set on fire. Detectives have not released the cause of death but described Mr. Levey's death as a "brutal murder". The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit is looking for a white male in his late teens to early twenties, 5'-6" to 5'-7" tall, 120 lbs, and shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing a green shirt, shorts and a black and white backpack. This individual was seen near the victim's house at the time of the fire, approximately 11pm, June 25, 2013, and may be a suspect. On March 8, 1984, skeletal remains were found near a lake off Cangro Street in Canaveral Groves. The victim was later identified through dental records as Nancy Kay Brown of Rantoul, Illinois. 57-year-old janitorial service worker Ralph Anderson was shot to death around 7am January 13, 1985, as he cleaned inside the old Village Saloon. Anderson was shot five times at close range with a .38-caliber pistol and apparently died from two bullets to the back of his head. Investigators suspected Anderson knew his killer and had let that person inside the tavern. His body was discovered by the tavern's owner when he arrived at the business later that morning. On 05/16/2008 Hispanic males Santos De La Cruz dob 7/23/1974 and Quirino Velasquez dob 4/2/1962 were found dead at the street corner of Hutchinson and Porter Streets in Dade City (an unincorperated section of Pasco County Florida). Both Velasquez and De La Cruz were migrant workers working out of the Dade City area. Both victims sustained heavy trauma due to homicidal violence.
