This case id related to the murder of Eleanor Swift. Case #87-17190. These cases are believed to have been committed by the same individual. Both women were found murdered in their bedrooms. Similarities found in both cases are #1 The victims were both elderly white females who lived alone. #2 the homes were both single-family, single story, concrete block constructed with either a family room or screen room where forced entry occurred. #3Forced entry was gained through the use of some type of pry toold. #4 There was no sexual assault in either case. #5 Both offenses occured in the darkness #6 Both cases occurred within four days of each other. Update - May 2020: Investigators at the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office have cleared the murder of Rocky Taylor after 33 years. Detectives indicated that DNA evidence linked them to a suspect that died in 2015 from cancer. The man was believed to be a former boyfriend of the victim.
