On November 15th, 2009, deputies learned of a party going on in the parking lot near 4156 Inglenook Lane. A fight erupted between two unknown black males, one of them pulled out a handgun and started shooting at the other as he ran from the area. The victim was sitting in his vehicle and was struck by gunfire. The victim died as a result of the gunshot wound. UPDATE: June 2021 - On June 4, 2021, two men were taken into custody for their connection to the Arbuthnot double homicide. David Wisham Sr. and Kenneth Jones Jr. are in custody, each currently charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

In the early morning hours of December 17, 2013, first responders found the bodies of 20-year-old Ryesha Arbuthnot and her mother, 45-year-old Lisa Arbuthnot at the Wind Run apartments off the north I-10 Service Road.

The coroner says the 20-year-old was stabbed to death while her mother was shot in the head.

On Monday, 06-27-05, at 2:33pm, Gainesville Police received a 911 call from the victim, Phillip "Brian" Sweat advising he had just been stabbed. Before going unconscious, he told dispatch his attacker was a B/M, wearing a long sleeve blue shirt. Sweat was stabbed in his front yard, 4024 SW 38th St (near Archer Rd and I-75). His house was at the end of a secluded cul-de-sac, but backed up to several cheap hotels (Motel 6, Ramada, etc). Sweat drove a newer, red, Toyota Spider convertible, which was still parked in his driveway.
