While on routine patrol, a Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer observed the front door of a warehouse open and a light on at 1856 Evergreen Avenue. On 03/12/1986 a body was discovered floating in a creek south of I10 near Hwy 87S. The subject was believed to have been deceased for approximately 3-6 weeks. The medical examiner was unable to determine exact cause of death. The following information was obtain from the medical examination of victim: Victim was a White Female, possible with a Latin appearance, approximately 5’6” and 120-135 lbs, 25-30 years of age with brownish-black hair, and appeared to be right handed. Victim had 2-3 terminal labor episodes and was a heavy cigarette smoker and cocaine user, there were skull fractures that were 2-3 years old. The victim had very unique dental features and wore partial denture plate. Both hands were missing and they were believed to have been removed by a weight being tied to them. Joseph V. Furando, age 39, of Gilford, CT, was on a business trip in New Hampshire in May 1979. He was last seen in Newton, MA, on May 16, 1979 and had reservations at the Holiday Inn in Portsmouth, NH, for later that evening. Joseph's body was found on Brewer Road just off of Route 150 in Kensington, NH, on May 17, 1979. He was lying approximately 20 feet from his vehicle. An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.
