Bayshore Gardens Murders Manatee Sheriff case 2017-022138 On August 5th, 2017 at about 3:50 am deputies responded to a shooting at 1103 Harvard Avenue, Bradenton Fl. This is the location of the housing area of Bayshore Gardens of Manatee County, Fl. Upon arrival, the deputies found two individuals deceased inside the residence. They were identified as Rodney Williams Jr and Keith Jones. Witnesses described an apparent home invasion robbery where four masked men entered the residence. The victim Elwin “Larry” Costine was last seen early on the morning of May 3, 1992, when he dropped a friend off after having been to a rodeo the night before. He was last seen with Melissa Jo Sermons, who he was reportedly dating. On May 4, 1992, Costine was found in his residence, murdered. He had been shot several times. At the time he was discovered, there was no sign of Sermons at his residence. Her family learned that she did not return home after leaving with him to attend the rodeo. Foul play is also suspected in Sermons’ disappearance. Roger Pleaugh, a 45 year old male, was found by 448 W. Georgia St. on November 13, 2005 and was transported to the hospital due to having head injuries. Pleaugh had a makeshift camp behind this location and told the responding officer that he had been drinking, was beat up and some items were taken from him. Pleaugh managed to crawl to the sidewalk and call for help. Pleaugh succumbed to his injuries on November 21, 2005. There were no known witnesses to the incident.
