Marie Michel, a native of Haiti, was found shot to death inside her daughter’s home located on Sandpine Trail in Winter Haven. Michel was last seen alive at 10:40 a.m. on December 11, 2003, babysitting her granddaughter while her daughter ran errands. When her daughter returned home at 12:15 p.m., she found her mother shot once in the head and her daughter locked in a bedroom, unharmed. Michel came to Polk County to visit her daughter and daughter's boyfriend on December 5th, and planned to stay two weeks. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence and nothing appeared to have been taken. On Saturday January 24, 1970 the body of Ronald Eugene Keith was found in a field in the 3000 block of South Lynnhaven Road, across the street from Plaza Middle School. Several apartment buildings and businesses now occupy this field. Keith had been a missing person between October and January. The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound. He had last been seen by his family on October 16, 1969 at approximately 11:00 pm. Mr. Keith was known to visit the following Tidewater cities, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Chesapeake. Ronald Keith was a black male who stood 5’ 8’’ tall weighing 140 pounds. He had brown eyes, black hair, and a medium complexion

On October 5, 2003, 5 P.M., James Thomas was located dead inside of his residence at 115 NW 3 Street # 2 in the city of Hallandale Beach. The investigation revealed that Thomas was stabbed to death. The building manager stated that he last saw James alive on October 4, 2003, at about 8 P.M. On October 5, 2003, 5 P.M, the building manager claims he knocked on James door but received no response. Feeling that it was odd that James did not answer, he retrieved a copy of the door key and entered the apartment locating James on his bed covered in blood. A large knife was also located near James' body.
