The following news clipping was published in the Naples Daily News on October 4, 1974. “Taxi Operator Slain – JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – The owner-operator of a small taxicab company found shot to death under the approach to the Hart Bridge over the St. Johns River was apparently the victim of a robbery-slaying, police say. Officers said they found the body of Joseph Roy Davis, 40, early Thursday. A taxi Davis had been operating Wednesday night was found abandoned in South Jacksonville, several miles away. Cold Case Spotlight

On 05-08-1991 Sherry Ross was murdered at 3301 Thomas Street. Upon arrival the victim was located in the bedroom of the residence deceased. The victim had what appeared to be a stab wound to her chest. The victim's six year old daughter was also home when the incident occurred, and she was not harmed. It is believed that Sherry was sitting at a table doing some work. The front door was open which was not unusual. The suspect came in and gave demands. The suspect then took the victim into the bedroom and the victim was heard screaming. The suspect then left the residence. The victim was stabbed by the unknown suspect during an apparent robbery inside the residence.
