On February 15, 1987, a male victim’s skeletal remains were found in a wooded area located at 2201 Rifle Range Road in Alturas. The victim had been dead for one to three years. Osteological examination showed the victim had one leg markedly shorter than the other, may have had facial trauma prior to his death, and was likely a short Latin male, between the ages of 35-45. The cause of death is believed to be head trauma.
