On March 31, 1974, 21-year-old Rose Oliver was found in an orange grove located ½ mile north of CR 546 and ½ mile east of US Highway 27 in Lake Wales. She had been stabbed in the chest. A suitcase was found next to her body. She was known to hitchhike.
