On Sunday, November, 10, 1991, 22 year old Lee Navarro was working at the Zero’s Sub Shop located in the Birchwood Shopping Center at 3760 Virginia Beach Blvd. He was working alone at the time this murder occurred. Potential customers entered the sub shop at approximately 7:45 pm finding Mr. Navarro suffering from a gunshot to the chest. Police and Rescue units responded to the scene. Rescue transported the victim to Virginia Beach General Hospital where he died from his injury. Mr. Navarro’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. He was a white male who had brown eyes and a brown hair cut in military style, 5’ 9’’ tall weighing 165 pounds.

Verdell Grice Albert, 39, was an employee of Goodwill Industries and was last seen at the offices at 300 Mabry St. on 08/16/93 at approx. 5:50pm. She was seen near her yellow 1982 AMC station wagon arguing with a black male in the Publix parking lot at 2020 West Pensacola Street in Tallahassee, Florida. Her remains were later found off of L.L. Wallace Rd. in Leon County on 11/8/93.

On November 16, 2007, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 216 Stefanik Road in Winter Park in response to a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located Keira Banks, b/f 24 years old, unconscious in the doorway of her home. Banks died two days later from her injuries. Banks’ 2-year-old child was in the home at the time of the shooting. Witnesses reported seeing three or four black males fleeing the scene.
