On February 15, 1987, a male victim’s skeletal remains were found in a wooded area located at 2201 Rifle Range Road in Alturas. The victim had been dead for one to three years. Osteological examination showed the victim had one leg markedly shorter than the other, may have had facial trauma prior to his death, and was likely a short Latin male, between the ages of 35-45. The cause of death is believed to be head trauma. Cold Case Spotlight

On the night of March 29, 2000, Ricardo Tillman Jr was breaking up an altercation that was occurring outside of the Jazco nightclub. During the altercation, he was stabbed in his back. He was sent to Shands Memorial hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Throughout his stay there, he was diagnosed with a staph infection. This resulted in his death on the morning of April 10, 2000.
