On December 23, 1981, 37-year-old Vincent Bartley was shot to death with a small caliber handgun outside the Sunset Beer Garden, located at 140 Ave Y NE in Winter Haven. Bartley had just shot someone else at the bar. After being shot, Bartley was placed inside a vehicle and driven to Bob’s Billiards at the intersection of 1st Street NE and Avenue P NE in Winter Haven, where the car was abandoned with his body inside.
