Date of Homicide: 4-11-11 Case number: 11-16541 On April 11, 2011, at approximately 0958 hours, (9:58 am) the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the Desoto Village Apartments, stating that there was a dead, black female inside her apartment and a baby found crying inside a locked bedroom. The maintenance crew forced open the bedroom door with a screwdriver. They had received a phone call from an unknown person stating that they needed to check the welfare of Myslene Gabriel, because she possibly had committed suicide. MSO responded and found Myslene Gabriel, B/F, dead, lying face up in the living room. Gabriel appeared to have signs of trauma on her face at that time, and was 3 months pregnant at the time of her death. The apartment was locked and according to the family her cell phone, a Blackberry Torch was missing along with a large flat screen TV. The victim had an incident with her ex-boyfriend, Bryan Stanford, on 4-5-11 and he was subsequently arrested on 4-11-11 for Aggravated Domestic Battery, but denied any involvement in her death.
