UPDATE - On December 23, 2019, Eddie Rhiles pleaded guilty to killing Joseph Back and was sentenced to 22 years in prison. According to News4Jax.com, At first, Rhiles denied being in Back’s house that night and pleaded not guilty. Later, however, he apologized to the victim’s family and pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder charge. On August 6, 2019 the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Eddie Lee Rhiles, now 69 years old in the 1991 murder of 84-year-old Joseph Back. On July 12, 1991 Joseph Back was stabbed to death during a burglary in his home. The elderly man was found dead during a wellness check.
