On January 6, 1990, 30-year-old Michael David Hamilton was found dead in his car at the E-Z Food Store, located at Power Line and Baker Dairy Road in Haines City. He had been shot one time in the left shoulder while sitting in his car. It appears that Hamilton was shot during a drug buy, and drove himself to the E-Z Food Store, where he died inside his car in the parking lot. This case id related to the murder of Eleanor Swift. Case #87-17190. These cases are believed to have been committed by the same individual. Both women were found murdered in their bedrooms. Similarities found in both cases are #1 The victims were both elderly white females who lived alone. #2 the homes were both single-family, single story, concrete block constructed with either a family room or screen room where forced entry occurred. #3Forced entry was gained through the use of some type of pry toold. #4 There was no sexual assault in either case. #5 Both offenses occured in the darkness #6 Both cases occurred within four days of each other.
