Cold Case Spotlight

On November 18th, 2007, at 10:15 p.m., police answered a call at the Mission Springs apartments at 5327 Timuquana Road and found 19-year-old Barry Lee Brooks Jr. with a gunshot wound. Rescue took Brooks to the hospital, but he died early the next morning. Police think the crime was related to a robbery and said they`re looking for multiple assailants. Witnesses described them as two men wearing black hoodies with their faces covered by bandanas. The crime scene was near a trash bin at the tree line along Catoma Street. On April 7, 2008 unidentified remains of a black male were found lying off the side of a set of train tracks north of NW 19th street in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was 5'8 and weighed 127lbs and estimated to be in his 50s-60s. He was wearing a collared shirt with a blue pattern Penguin Club brand size XL. He was wearing Cintas brand dark blue pants size 33.
