Cold Case Spotlight

Christopher McDowell, 19, was killed while walking down the road early Saturday morning, January 11th, 2014. The driver who hit McDowell did not pull over after hitting him and has not been caught. McDowell was walking north on St. Johns Bluff Road at Lost Pine Drive around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he was hit. His body was found on the side of the road by an officer on patrol with the Jacksonville Sheriff`s Office. Florida Highway Patrol investigators believe McDowell was walking back to the InTown Suites Extended Stay from the Kangaroo Gas station on the same street when he was hit near Lost Pine Drive. FHP said the vehicle is an SUV or pick-up that is gray metallic or silver metallic. The vehicle will have damage to the right front area and FHP needs the public help in identifying the vehicle and the driver. Anyone with information can contact the Florida Highway Patrol in Jacksonville at (904) 695-4101. At about 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 23, 2016, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for a person who appeared to be lying motionless inside a motor vehicle in the area of 36 Williams Avenue in Hyde Park. On arrival, officers located a male victim, believed to be in his early twenties, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced on the scene. The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
