On June 14, 2013 the remains of an unidentified homicide victim was discovered along SR 70 just E of Turkey Hammock. Based on the scene the victim appears to have been transported to the location after death and possibly had been at the location for 2 months before discovery. The victim is believed to be a Hispanic male, 25 to 50 yoa, 5'0" in height and weighed approximately 140lbs. The unidentified victim was determined to have Klippel-Feil syndrome which is a disease causing the individual to appear as having no neck. The photograph depicting the victim is from forensic facial reconstruction completed by LSU during 2015. You may remain anonymous and be subject to a reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of the subject(s) responsible.

Cold Case Spotlight

On January 4, 1994 police were dispatched to 4000 San Juan Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida in response to a body floating in the Ortega River just north of the Ortega Bridge. The victim was identified as Lora Elise Loftin Crady, just 2 weeks shy of her 38th birthday. Lora's partially clothed body displayed evidence of foul play. Lora's death was initially deemed undetermined by JSO but the medical examiner's office rule it a homicide. The discrepancy led to evidence being thrown out. Now investigators need the public's help to find Lora's killer and bring justice to her family.
